Terms of Purchase

1. Who you are buying from

Story By Anyone and Human Story Company are brands used for the service. The legal operator is identified below and is the contracting party for the order.

2. What the service provides

The service turns customer-supplied memories, answers and musical preferences into a personalised digital song. Depending on the package, the process may include automated story analysis, lyric writing, music generation, human editing, production review, artwork, a private listening page and downloadable audio.

The product description and price shown at checkout form part of the agreement. Creative work is interpretive. A personalised song will reflect the approved Story DNA and selected musical direction, but it is not a promise that every customer phrase will appear verbatim or that the result will imitate a named artist.

3. Orders and payment

An order is created when the customer submits the checkout form and completes payment through Stripe. Production begins only after payment is confirmed. Prices are shown in the selected currency and include taxes when required by applicable law.

The customer must provide a working email address. Order confirmations, private delivery links and legally relevant notices are sent to that address.

4. Immediate production and the right of withdrawal

Consumers normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases, subject to statutory exceptions. Because the ordered song is personalised digital content and production may begin immediately, checkout includes a separate request and acknowledgement:

I expressly ask Story By Anyone to begin producing my personalised digital song immediately. I understand that once supply of the digital content begins, there is no statutory right of withdrawal for that digital content, and that any service component loses its withdrawal right once fully performed. My statutory rights concerning delay, defects and non-conformity remain unaffected.

The loss of a withdrawal right does not remove statutory rights if the digital content is delayed, defective or does not conform to the agreement. Before supply has begun, or where a statutory withdrawal right still applies, the customer can use the online cancellation function.

A submitted cancellation request is acknowledged immediately. Eligibility, refund amount and any work already performed are assessed under applicable consumer law; submitting the form is not itself confirmation that a refund is due.

5. Delivery, review and revisions

Delivery estimates are estimates, not guaranteed dates, unless a specific date is expressly agreed in writing. Automated packages may move directly from approved lyrics to music production. Human packages may take longer because they include personal writing or production review.

Included revisions are limited to the number and type described in the package. A revision means a reasonable adjustment within the approved Story DNA and musical direction. A new story, substantially different subject, new language, new genre or complete creative restart may require a new order or additional fee.

6. Customer-supplied stories and materials

The customer retains ownership of material they already own. The customer grants the operator a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to store, analyse, adapt, translate, edit, transform and otherwise process that material solely to operate the service, create the ordered outputs, provide support, prevent misuse and comply with law.

The customer confirms that they may lawfully submit the material and have permission to include personal information, lyrics, recordings, photographs or other protected material belonging to another person. Customers should avoid unnecessary sensitive information and should not submit confidential or intimate information about another person without that person’s permission.

7. AI-assisted and third-party production

The service may use selected AI, music, hosting, payment and email providers. AI systems can produce unexpected wording, factual errors or stylistic inconsistencies. Story By Anyone uses Story DNA, review gates and human intervention where included, but no automated system can guarantee artistic perfection.

Named artists supplied as references are translated into general musical characteristics. The service does not promise voice imitation, melodic imitation or replication of an identifiable artist.

8. Rights in the delivered song

The purchase is a licence to use the delivered song, not an assignment of copyright, publishing rights, master ownership, trademarks, production systems or commercial distribution rights. The detailed licence is set out in the Licence Terms and forms part of this agreement.

To the extent copyright or related rights arise in or are held in the lyrics, composition, arrangement, recording, artwork or production, those rights remain with the operator, NorthBeat, the relevant human creators or other identified rightsholders unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.

The personal-use licence includes the social-sharing rights described in the Licence Terms. For Story By Anyone Song · Instant, public social-media sharing requires the Story By Anyone tag or credit described there.

9. Social sharing and optional Story By Anyone features

If a customer deliberately makes a Story By Anyone Song · Instant post public and tags or credits Story By Anyone, Story By Anyone may repost or reshare that public post on its own social channels under the Licence Terms. This does not expose the underlying private interview or Story Vault.

Checkout may also offer a separate optional “Help inspire someone else” permission. If selected, Story By Anyone may feature the delivered song on its own social channels within the limited scope recorded with the order. The customer may record a do-not-publish-before date for a surprise, gift or event; this is an embargo date rather than a guaranteed publication date. That permission is not a NorthBeat release, does not create digital-service-provider distribution rights and does not authorise publication of non-public personal details.

10. Separate NorthBeat Release and Co-Release

The original song purchase is private and does not include public distribution. After the customer receives the finished song, the private delivery page may offer a separate paid application for NorthBeat Release or NorthBeat Co-Release.

The release application requires separate public-release permission, a public identity choice and acceptance of the Release Selection Terms. Payment buys a human release review and, if selected, the stated sound-finishing, final preparation, artwork, release-information and distribution work. Co-Release also includes the revenue share stated in the Release Selection Terms. It does not guarantee selection, a release date, streams, playlist placement, income or commercial success.

If NorthBeat listens and declines the song before approving it for release work, the full release-application payment is refunded through the original payment method. The private song and personal-use licence remain available whether the application is selected or declined.

If selected, the standard shared release identity is Story By Anyone as artist and NorthBeat Records as label. The customer may choose a separate public story credit or anonymity. Under NorthBeat Release, NorthBeat controls the official release master and retains master/distribution revenue. Under NorthBeat Co-Release, NorthBeat still controls the official master but the customer receives the contractual Net Master Revenue share recorded at checkout.

Older orders may contain a previously recorded NorthBeat Unsigned permission. Those historical records remain evidence for the specific order, but new checkout orders do not grant free public-release permission.

11. Complaints and non-conforming delivery

Contact the support email shown above and describe the order reference, issue and requested remedy. The operator may correct, replace, redeliver or refund where required by applicable law. Nothing in these terms limits mandatory rights under Swedish or other applicable consumer law.

12. Prohibited use

The customer may not use the service to infringe another person’s rights, impersonate a real person, create unlawful or abusive material, evade platform rules, register unauthorised Content ID claims, resell the song, or represent that commercial rights were transferred when they were not.

13. Liability

The operator is responsible to the extent required by mandatory law. The service is not liable for indirect commercial loss, lost streaming revenue or decisions made by third-party distribution platforms, except where such limitation is not permitted by law. The customer remains responsible for checking that their intended use is covered by the licence.

14. Changes to these terms

The version accepted at checkout governs that order. Later changes apply only to future orders unless the customer expressly agrees otherwise or a change is required by law and does not reduce mandatory rights.

15. Governing law and disputes

Swedish law applies, without depriving a consumer of mandatory protections in their country of residence. The parties should first try to resolve complaints directly. A Swedish consumer may also be able to refer an eligible dispute to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN) or another competent consumer dispute body.
